Tell Me More…
Commonly known as sky flower or golden dewdrop, the ‘Delightful Duranta’ collection is a fast-growing trio of evergreen shrubs that make a bold statement in any garden. With glossy, dark green leaves – ‘Variegata’ has white margins – they create a lush backdrop for the striking clusters of small, funnel-shaped flowers which are produced in summer, attracting bees and other pollinators to your garden. These flowers are followed by the signature, golden, ornamental berries, which contrast beautifully and give added interest well into the autumn months, but beware not to ingest them. The ‘Delightful Duranta’ collection comprises; ellisia, plumieri and ‘Variegata’. Duranta thrive in full sun and well-drained soil and need to be kept above 5°C, making them the perfect choice for a conservatory during winter. Reaching around a height of 2.5-3m in height and spreading up to 2.5m, they are drought-tolerant once established and require minimal maintenance, making them a reliable and attractive option for ground cover or cascading plantings.
