Tell Me More…
Such a show-off, Clematis Taiga is a much-loved climber, the result of exciting Japanese breeding and launched at the Chelsea Flower Show 2017. Violet-purple petals with contrasting lime-green tips create huge blousy blooms. Once fully open the palm-size blooms, almost cover the climbing foliage from May to October. Clematis Taiga is wonderful planted in a pot or a border, ready to climb over walls, fences, up an obelisk or trellis. Clematis Taiga prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade with the base in shade. Classified as pruning group 3, making this an easy to grow climber and good for beginners. Reaching a height in maturity of around 2.5m, Taiga is a fully hardy perennial, signifying Taiga will flourish outside all year round for many years; no winter protection required.
