Tell Me More…
An artist’s canvas for shady areasHeucherella ‘Stoplight’ boasting large, maple-like, palmate foliage in bright shades of yellowy-lime green will shine out from your borders and containers. Each leaf is heavily veined and flushed with maroon-red tones, looking as if it has been hand-painted.Grown primarily for the fancy foliage, in summer, a mass of small, starry white flowers are held high on wiry stems from July to August, and often longer, hence the very apt common name Foamy Bells. The Heucherella family are a hybrid of heuchera and tiarella, resulting in evergreen perennial, often referred to as ‘Sweet Tea’. The foliage always has a beautiful colour with deep veining. In the summer months thin stems rise above the foliage and produce small flowers. Heucherella are slug resistant and thrive in moist, well-drained soil in semi-shade but will cope with full sun. A compact perennial, Heucherella ‘Stoplight’ will reach a mature height of around 50cm, spreading to 30cm.
