Large flowerheads smothered in fragrant florets are adored by bees and pollinators, bringing nectar-rich enticement while offering long-lasting blooms when included in arrangements for vases and bouquets. The ‘Fancy Phlox’ collection comprises; ‘Blue Boy’ – beguiling clusters of mauve-purple blooms from June to September, height 1m and spread 60cm; ‘Laura’ – large, luxurious lavender-pink flowerheads from July to September, height 90cm and spread 60cm; ‘Spitfire’ – a mixture of pink, orange and red tones all in one plant, height 80cm, spread 75cm; ‘Eva Cullum’ AGM – pink blooms, each with a deep magenta eye are borne on strong stems from June to September, height 90cm, spread 80cm; and ‘Franz Schubert’ AGM – blooms in shades of pale-pink-purple blend in colour towards the edge of the petals, height 90cm, spread 60cm. Happy in borders and containers, all are fully hardy perennials with exceptional slug resistance. Plant moist, well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay, in full sun or partial shade.
