Sowing Time
Indoors: January – December
Outdoors: May – September
Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow thickly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost or sow in clumps into a module tray. Place in the warmth 18-20 degrees Celsuis (65-70 Fahrenheit) and keep moist.
Transplanting/Growing On
When large enough to handle, gradually accustom young plants to conditions outside for 2-3 weeks before planting out into their final cropping positions 2cm (1in) apart when the danger of frost has passed.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow seeds thinly in a shallow, short pre-watered row, lightly covering with a little soil. Keep moist as dry conditions impair germination. Allow 2.5cm (1in) between plants. Small sowing made every few weeks ensure a continuous supply. Keep the bed moist at all times.
Aftercare
Keep well watered in periods of dry weather, regular picking will ensure continuity.
