Tell Me More…
A rare and hard to find new butterfly magnet, Eupatorium Mask is the perfect plant for smaller gardens or containers, just watch and enjoy the spectacle as our pollinating friends visit to enjoy the feast. An abundance of large, domed clusters of small pink flowers open on dark purple stems to create a frothy-looking effect above the heart-shaped foliage from July to September. Just as long flowering and floriferous as its larger Eupatorium cousins, but on sturdy shorter stems that will not flop. Also known as Joe Pye Weed, legend tells that a Native North America named Joe Pye used it to cure fevers. Eupatorium Mask is deer and rabbit resistant and will happily grow in borders or containers, the flowers are excellent for cutting for your home, but if left on the plant, the seed heads look wonderful during the winter. Eupatorium prefer to be grown in damp soil in sun or part shade, reaching a height and spread of approximately 70cm when mature. Being a hardy perennial, Eupatorium will thrive outside with no winter protection required.
