Description
Handsome native tree with large pale to mid-green heart-shaped leaves. This tree has a spreading, bushy canopy which will become home to a whole host of wildlife. The yellow-white flowers, which are very attractive to bees, appear in June and July. As the tree ages, the dark grey bark becomes deeply fissured and marked which gives the tree a wonderful character. This lime tree is often used in parkland planting and it also makes a fantastic windbreak. Not suitable for dry sites, but can thrive on poorly drained soil. Possibly the tallest deciduous tree in Britain.
