The flamingo-pink blooms of Fuchsia ‘Elma’ form a rounded head that sits atop a clear stem. This compact variety has been trained as a standard to create a fabulous patio plant, but would work equally well in borders. Showy and reliable, Fuchsia ‘Elma’ makes a superb addition to the garden, providing colour and interest from June right through to autumn, year after year. Like all single flowered Fuchsias, this variety will also attract pollinating insects. Height: 90cm (36″). Spread: 50cm (20″).
Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Try the sweet tasting petals on top of salads or even pancakes, crystallise them for use as cake decorations too. For more details, visit Suttons edible flowers guide.
Growing Information
Plant fuchsias into light, well-drained soil in sun or part shade. When growing in containers, use a quality, well drained compost such as John Innes No.3. Pinch out the growing tips of your fuchsia plants once, to promote bushier growth and more flowers.
