Description
This variety of fern has an attractive structure as the fronds are neatly arranged in a shuttlecock-like formation, making this a wonderfully ornamental plant. The fronds are dark-green in colour with soft, feathery pinnae that overlap, giving this fern a light and delicate texture and appearance. With this being an evergreen it’s a great way of adding colour to your garden all year round. Plant this soft shield fern in a shady spot with another lacy variety; we love it in front of the somewhat darker Matteuccia struthiopteris as both ferns have an airy appearance but they provide you with varied structures and colours.
