Clearance Astrantia major ‘Claret’ Masterwort

Dark ruby red flowers held on wiry, branched stems from June to August above deeply lobed, mid-green leaves. This is one of the darkest flowered astrantias currently available. The delightful, pincushion like flowers work equally well in the dappled shade of a woodland edge or in a sunny, yet moist cottage style border. Astrantias have been cultivated in Britain since the 16th century and have numerous common names, such as melancholy gentleman, Hattie’s pincushion and the more well known masterwort. Supplied in approx. 2 litre containers.
