This well-known cultivar, which has received an RHS AGM, is well-deservedly popular. The mottled pink and red foliage darkens to purple and red in autumn, providing a striking contrast to the spring flowers and bright red, late summer berries. Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea ‘Rose Glow’ is as useful as it is beautiful, serving as an eye-catching specimen shrub in garden borders or as a prickly hedge to deter intruders. This deciduous shrub is a must-have because it is tough, resilient, and easy to grow. Height and spread: 150 cm (59″).
Growing Information
Plant Berberis in full sun or partial shade, on a reliably moist, well-drained soil. Barberry plants are extremely resilient and will grow on many different soil types, except waterlogged.
