Endorsed and recommended by well-known horticulturalist and writer James Wong, ‘Rubel’ is a blueberry variety that’s famed for it’s high level of anthocyanins present within the fruits. Originating from the forests of Jersey in the early 1900s, where it descends from wild blueberry bushes, don’t mistake it’s small sized fruits for a lack of flavour. This incredible variety packs intense blueberry flavour in abundance in it’s darker coloured fruits. On top of the taste, ‘Rubel’ also shows great disease resistance, allowing for reliable, healthy crops. Cute blooms will emerge in spring, along with beautiful foliage in autumn. Height: 200cm (79”). Growing Information
Blueberries require a well drained, acid soil in a sunny or semi shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow blueberry plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3.
