In 2017 Mulberry ‘Charlotte Russe won Plant of the Year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show – a prestigious and famed award, which for an edible shrub to win speaks volumes of the performance of this brilliant variety. This dwarf Mulberry is able to be grown in smaller spaces, which typically is not viable for Mulberries as they tend to take over, but now with compact stems, you can grow in a patio pot! ‘Charlotte Russe’ will produce juicy, delicious fruits on both old and wood, providing you with bountiful harvests. Growing Information
Grow mulberry trees in moist, slightly acid soil in a sheltered position in full sun. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. This dwarf variety will not need staking. Plant mulberries at the same soil level as they were growing at the nursery, and use a tree tie to fasten the tree to the stake.
