Verbena officinalis var. grandiflora ‘Bampton’ is an unusual and much revered verbena that was discovered in a public garden in Bampton, Devon.
It has an airy open habit and long blooming lavender-pink flower spikes, the stand out feature of this plant however is its long wiry stems and tiny serrated leaves, flushed with a purple sheen as it emerges from a tight evergreen crown in Spring.
The bronze or purple-flushed foliage is topped by the airy violet-pink flowers for a long period throughout summer. It creates a light and airy clump, which looks great in naturalised planting schemes or pots. Supplied in approx 3 litre containers.
