Description
Our Container Irrigation Kit ensures that your plant receives the appropriate amount of water – no more under or over watering!
This self-monitoring and self-dispensing watering system uses capillary action to channel the required amount of water from the reservoir to the roots of your plant. Specifically designed for container grown plants, it’s ideal for patio containers, feature/entrance-way trees, remote locations and holiday homes. Please note, it should be used in conjunction with surface watering.
We offer the Container Irrigation Kit in two sizes, the medium is ideal for patio plants and small trees in medium sized pots (min pot size – 24cm wide base and 50cm height). The large system is suited to our taller trees which will be grown in big pots (min pot size – 24cm wide base and 65cm height).
We also stock irrigation systems for planting out into a border or lawn.

How to Easily Install an Irrigation Kit for Trees Planted in Containers
Planting Steps
1Preparation
- Pot-grown plants can be planted at any time of year, whereas bare roots need to be planted between November and March.
- Clear weeds and grass within a metre of the planting hole.
- Dig a hole as deep as the root mass and twice as wide.
- To help your plant establish more effectively, sprinkle Rootgrow in the hole.
2Planting
- Gently loosen the roots and place into the planting hole.
- Ensure the top of the plant’s compost is flush with the level of the surrounding soil and the graft union or collar of the tree is above ground level.
- Mix 50% of the original soil with 50% compost.
- Fill in the hole, firming the soil gently.
3Last Steps
- Water generously around the base of the plant.
- If you are planting either a single stem tree or mature standard tree, we recommend adding a staking kit and rabbit guard.
