Description
Malus ‘Laxton’s Superb’ is the most widely grown of all the late dessert varieties. The fruit is greenish-yellow flushed with flushed with purple and red stripes, giving it an attractive old fashioned appearance. The fruit has a wonderfully sweet flavour and the flesh is firm. This apple is a good substitute for ‘Cox’s Orange Pippin’ in colder areas due to its good resistance to frost.
To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same or adjacent flowering group (e.g. Arthur Turner).
