Description
The ‘Holland’ is the Dutch clone of the classic Betula ermanii (Swedish birch) and it is planted for both its architectural qualities and its winter interest. The ‘Holland’ grows to have a neater and more regular crown than Betula ermanii, but yet it holds the same serrated leaves and it boasts a delightful autumn display of colour. Come autumn, the leaves turn yellow before falling and revealing the silvery yellow bark that really stands out in a winter garden. This is larger than the average birch and so it is suited to a medium-large sized garden.
