Description
Juglans ‘Rita’ features a heavy crop of oblong-shaped, golden-brown nuts that have a thin shell that is heavily fissured. The nuts appear after 4-5 years and have a sweet yet rich flavour. The tree has a slow- growing habit and forms a rather compact, upright tree in comparison to other walnut varieties. ‘Rita’ has partial self-fertility and will produce heavier yields when planted alongside a different walnut species.
