Vinca minor ‘Atropurpurea’ blooms in spring with deep plum-purple flowers above the evergreen foliage. This lovely Lesser Periwinkle is less vigorous than its larger cousin, Vinca major, making it easier to keep within its confines. Vinca are ideal for filling in tight spaces where little else grows. It is ideal for establishing weed-controlling ground cover in nearly any location, from sunny banks to dark, shady corners. Height: 20cm (8″) Spread: 50cm (19″).
Growing Information
Grow Vinca plants in borders outdoors in any moist, well drained soil. Periwinkle is a particularly tough plant, and will thrive in any garden position, provided that the soil isn’t dry.
