Our best-selling Begonia ‘Apricot Shades’ was already at the top of its game, but why stop there? Our breeders started hand-blending an even better mix to give you a wider range of colours and twice the number of picotee-edged flowers. Begonia ‘Apricot Shades Improved’ has a lot of flower power and will brighten up your garden from July to October. In an impressive display, the large, double blooms cascade from trailing stems. This adaptable variety thrives in both the sun and the shade, easily surviving our unpredictable summer weather. Plant them in baskets, window boxes, flower pouches, and containers—in fact, anywhere a bright splash of summer colour is needed. Height: 30cm (12″). Spread: 45 cm (18″).

Growing Information

Tubers are ideal for containers and baskets, making a larger plant in the first year than plug plants or growing from seed. From February, start tuberous begonias off in well-drained, moist compost in a warm, frost-free position in bright light. When planting begonia tubers, position them just below the compost surface with the indented side facing upwards. In hanging baskets the tubers can be planted at a 45 degree angle with their roots toward the centre, to encourage plants to cascade over the sides of the basket. When begonia plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
