This free-flowering Delphinium will make for a remarkable feature or focal point at the back of borders, due to it’s intriguing deep blue flowers in the shape of spires standing to attention. Also works as an alternative idea in cut flower arrangements, this striking perennial is not only a classic in cottage garden schemes, but it adds a modern touch with it’s sharp form, bold colour and height. Height: 150cm (60″). Spread: 75cm (30″).
Growing Information
Pot up delphinium plants using free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting them outdoors. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds, on moist, well drained soil. Protect young delphiniums from slugs and snails.
