Description
Raised in Kent in 1964, this was the first new cooking apple for 50 years. It has an upright to rounded habit and a relatively small eventual size; the perfect choice for a smaller garden. The mid-green leaves are complimented by pretty white flowers in spring. The ‘Bountiful’ is also a good disease resistant variety. The apples are large and pale green with a pretty orange-red flush. When cooked, the apple slices just keep shape, soft, juicy, light and sweet. Pick the crops in early autumn, in winter the fruit can be eaten as a dessert apple.
To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same flowering group (e.g. Golden Pippin).
