Azalea ‘Mother’s Day’ is certainly one of our favourite varieties of Azalea! Flowering in May, it produces spectacular semi-double, funnel-shaped blooms of a bright, bold red. Each flower has a very faint brown speckling to it and overall, the flowers contrast well with the small, glossy dark-green foliage.
A compact variety, growing to around 60-80cms at maturity. Plant in moist, well-drained and slightly acidic soil to really see this plant thrive. Looks absolutely superb planted en-masse, no spring-flowering shrub quite beats it for the sheer boldness and abundance of colour. Will also look great coupled with yellow and orange flowers for a highly effective, ‘fiery’ planting scheme.
