Despite its late flowering, this hardy, deciduous shrub’s spectacular display is well worth the wait for one last burst of summer color. From late summer to mid-autumn, its branches are laden with lacy, soft pink flowers. Each bloom has a collar of rounded petals that are finely laced with darker pink veining and a cluster of smaller petals in the center that creates an appealing ruffled effect. As a specimen plant or trained into a small tree, Hibiscus syriacus ‘Pink Chiffon’ makes an excellent backdrop to mixed borders. Height: 2.5 m (98″). Spread: 2 m (78″).
Growing Information
Grow Hibiscus on rich fertile, reliably moist, well drained soil, in full sun. When growing hibiscus plants in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3.
