Dark green, densely curled leaves. The plants are dwarf growing and compact in habit. Very winter hardy.
Tom says: Kale has had a huge resurgence in recent years thanks to it’s incredibly high nutritional values, so much so that we’ve seen headlines like “Kale shortage imminent”. Easy to grow, incredibly productive and with a multitude of colours and leaf shapes… what’s not to like?

Sow April-May outdoors. (28-32 weeks maturity.)
Sowing Information
Sow thinly direct into a finely raked, moist, weed-free seedbed at a depth of 13mm ( 1?2″). Germination 7-12 days. Transplant with a trowel or dibber when large enough to handle 60cm (24″) between plants each way. Water in well if the weather is dry at planting time. Grows best on firm ground which has been deeply dug and liberally manured the previous autumn.
