Pea Proval

Great for successionally sowing, produce fresh peas for months!

Pea ‘Proval’ is a very early, spring cropping variety. Large yields of non-floury, crisp, and sweet peas, producing 7-8 per pod. Short 60cm tall pea plants that can withstand bad weather and are Mosaic Virus resistant. Sow successionally in beds or borders, for fresh peas for months!

Peas contain heart-healthy minerals that are essential when maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Harvesting from April to October, you’ll have plenty of time to add this delicious variety to accompany your favourite recipes. Also, a great pea variety to freeze or use fresh. Height 51-60cm (20-24″); spread 21-30cm (8-12″).

Growing Information

Sow seeds in rows 20cm (8″) apart direct into finely raked, moist, warm, weed-free soil, at a depth of 5cm (2″) and cover the seed lightly with soil. Germination usually takes 7-14 days. Gradually thin seedlings to 5cm (2″) apart. This variety does not require any canes for support. If growing over winter or in early spring, protective fleece or cloches will be required. Make successional sowings for continuous crops. Can also be sown in small pots/modules and transplanted when 8-10cm tall.
