This vigorous rambling rose produces long, arching branches filled with healthy, green foliage that can reach extraordinary heights. In early summer the stems are decorated with large clusters of small, semi-double white flowers with a central boss of golden-yellow stamens. Each flower has an intoxicating musk perfume. Masses of orange-red hips form once the flowering finishes. Rose ‘Bobbie James ‘is ideal for covering sheds, buildings, garden structures, and growing up through tall trees for a particularly eye catching sight when in full bloom. This rambling rose has a strong growth habit that will require plenty of space to reach its full potential. Height and spread: 8m (26’).
Growing Information
Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
