Malus tschonoskii
AKA Pillar Crab Apple

Pillar crab apple is an upright, conically shaped tree native to Japan and East Asia. It produces subtly fragrant, pink-tinged white flowers from April to May, prefect for attracting bees and other pollinators to your garden. Silvery-white young foliage darker with age and produces a fabulous autumnal display in vibrant shades of reds, oranges and yellows. Small red-flushed crap apples provide food for hungry birds. Its narrow growth habit makes it well suited for narrower parks and gardens. Eventual height and spread after 20 years is 6 metres by 3 metres.
