Description of each Plant you will Receive

  • 1x Amelanchier lamarckii (supplied height: 60-80cm) – a showy shrub/small tree that bears masses of wide white flowers throughout spring. It is a deciduous variety with leaves opening coppery-red, turning to soft green in summer and then to shades of red, orange and yellow in autumn.
  • 2x Beberis julianae (supplied height: 25-30cm) – a dense, strong growing, evergreen shrub which creates an excellent, impenetrable hedge bearing very long thorns and spiny margins to the leaves. It bears clusters of yellow flowers in late spring which are sometimes red-tinged at the edges. Foliage is glossy, dark green and turns red in autumn.
  • 2x Cornus alba ‘ Aurea ‘ (supplied height: 40-60cm) – a lovely hardy deciduous shrub which produces a stunning display of large crisp yellow leaves in spring followed by florets of small white flowers in June. In autumn the new stems turn crimson and remain to brighten up the winter months – making this plant very attractive all year round.
  • 3x Cornus alba ‘Sibirica’ (supplied height: 40-60cm) – dark green foliage, turning red in autumn with heads of creamy-white flowers, which are succeeded by rounded, white fruits, often tinged blue. A deciduous, upright shrub with scarlet young shoots in winter, ideal for flower arrangements and brightening a garden border in winter.
  • 1x Cornus sericea ‘Flaviramea’ (supplied height: 60-80cm) – a beautiful, deciduous, dense shrub which shows lovely rich golden stems in winter. It is a very hardy plant that is adaptable to most conditions and soil types. It can be grown in sun or shade and will thrive in the most fertile, well drained soils. The plant bears eye-catching stems which are very useful for providing winter colour to parks or gardens. It is particularly effective in winter when grown next to Cornus Alba (red stems).
  • 1x Cotoneaster lacteus (supplied height: 40-60cm) – shallow cup-shaped white flowers grow from early to mid-summer. Long lasting red berries are carried in massive clusters in autumn/winter. An evergreen, arching shrub with oval, dark green leaves, a excellent choice for hedging, space at 600mm centres.
  • 3x Hypericum ‘Hidcote’ (supplied height: 25-30cm) – a compact, lush semi-evergreen shrub which bears rose-like, waxy, golden yellow flowers between July and September. These are produced on reddish, twiggy stems above dark green, lance-shaped leaves. The flowers, which appear throughout the summer, are unusually large and slightly fragrant, measuring about 8cm across in a cupped shape.
  • 1x Lonicera pileata (supplied height: 15-30cm) – a dense, bushy variety with a spreading growth habit and angular branches which are clothed with masses of small, glossy, mid-green leaves. It makes a perfect, fast-growing low hedge and produces small, creamy-white flowers in late spring followed by translucent purple berries that are very attractive to birds in the autumn.
  • 2x Mahonia aquifolium (supplied height: 25-30cm) – medium sized, evergreen, prickly shrub bearing dense clusters of yellow flowers in the spring. During autumn and winter it produces black fruits providing a vital source of food for birds, and the leaves also take on hues of purples.
  • 1x Prunus padus (supplied height: 60-80cm) – a spreading, deciduous tree or shrub with toothed, dark green leaves, elliptical in shape which turn red or yellow in autumn. Clusters of fragrant bowl shaped white flowers form in spring, followed by small, bitter black fruits.
  • 1x Prunus Otto Luyken (supplied height: 20-30cm) – Spikes of white flowers in late spring, followed by cherry-like red, then blackberries. An evergreen, very dense bush with stiff glossy, dark-green leaves.
  • 2x Rosa rugosa (supplied height: 60-80cm) – Rosa rugosa are upright shrubs with prickly stems. They bear glossy, wrinkled leaves and fragrant, single or semi-double flowers in summer and autumn, usually followed by large, tomato-like red hips.
