Tell Me More…
As warm and dreamy as the name suggests. Large spikes of creamy white buds, open to scented sunny yellow flowers during June and July. Foliage is rich green and palmate, adding foliage interest to a planting scheme from March to October.Loved by pollinators, in particular bumble bees, Lupinus Desert Sun is perfect for growing at the back of a shallow border or flower bed where its golden spires will shine forth. Generally thought of as a cottage garden plant, they are also perfect for coastal areas and are robust enough to withstand coastal breeze or salty air. Growing to a height of 90cm and spread of 60cm, cut stems make a wonderful addition to an arrangement. Deadhead after flowering to encourage a second flush of blooms later in the year.Lupinus Desert Sun will thrive in a sunny or partially shaded spot. Plants prefer acid to neutral soil that is well-drained. Classed as hardy H5, they will die back over the winter with fresh new growth appearing in the spring.
