Excellent weather resistant bedding plants, bushy and uniform in habit. Flowers are large, with incurving petals and colours are bright and clear. Ideal also for tubs, troughs and window boxes, and as pot-plants. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Flowers July-October. HHA – Half hardy annual. Height 25cm (10″).
Also ideal for mid-late summer colour, asters are invaluable for bedding and edging, and in arrangements.
Sowing Information
Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx. 15-20°C (60-68°F) using a good quality, finely sieved, moist compost, pressing the seed lightly into the surface. Do not exclude light. Germination 10-21 days. Transplant seedlings, spacing them out 5cm (2″) apart in seed trays and grow on. Plant out 40cm (16″) apart in a sunny position. Can also be sown directly outside in April/May.
