Blueberry (Vaccinium) Berry Bux
Blueberry ‘Berry Bux’ is a low and attractive bush, that grows an abundance of delicious blueberries throughout the summer months. This is a productive bush variety with a compact growth habit, making it an ideal option for growing on a smaller patio or as a fruiting hedge in the garden.
It’s not just tasty fruits that this bush grows, but attractive flowers emerge in spring, which is a magnet for bees and butterflies. By the summer, the flowers are replaced by sweet blueberries that grow in clusters above a backdrop of glossy, green foliage.
Offering year-round interest and structure, ‘Berry Bux’ changes throughout the seasons of the year and in autumn you will see the leaves mature to rich shades of red, orange and bronze. In winter, an attractive winter tracery of bare stems is revealed in time for frost and snow.
If you have a smaller garden or patio, this bush variety can be grown in containers if space is restricted. If you have areas of acid soils in your garden, these deciduous Blueberry bushes can be planted as a low hedge. Height and spread: 50cm (20″).
Growing Information
Blueberries require a well drained, acid soil in a sunny or semi shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow blueberry plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3.
