Tell Me More…
Clusters of sweetly scented, exotic looking blooms are sure to add a tropical touch to your summer garden. Known by the common name, Night-flowering Jasmine – the scent is stronger in the evening – boasts evergreen foliage, the perfect foil for yellow, tubular blooms from May to August. Much loved by local bees and butterflies, they will certainly visit for a feast. Small berries follow in autumn. Slender and erect, these beauties are sure to provide structure and form. Native to north and south America, Cestrum aurantiacum prefers to be grown in a sunny or partially shaded site, in loamy or sandy soil. With an RHS hardiness rating of H3, Cestrum aurantiacum will need protection as temperatures dip below -5 C – however it can be grown as a conservatory plant in the coldest winter temperatures where it may flower all year round. Prefers well-drained soil in sun or partial shade, growing to a height of 2.5m and a spread of 1.5m.
