- You know what we’d like here at Roots? *Not* to have our arms shredded to pieces any time we try and pick a blackberry – that’s the dream, right?
- Well dream no longer, because ‘Loch Maree’ is a variety that produces easily accessible fruit on spineless stems, making for simple (and painless) pickings!
- Unlike many trailing blackberry varieties, which require support, this plant features semi-erect stems that don’t require training or support (though, of course, you still can if you want to)
- The fruit, which is sweet and utterly delicious, isn’t the sole star of the show as far as this variety is concerned. In early summer, stunning double, blush-pink flowers appear, giving the plant great ornamental value alongside its fruiting prowess
- Fully hardy and easy to grow, this variety is a must-have for any soft fruit lover
