Here’s something special for summer and autumn colour, easy to care for and drought resistant once established, Portulaca, also known as the moss rose due to the way it clothes the ground and covers itself in masses of bright cheerful flowers that can appear in virtually any colour – from white to bright red, orange, purple, pink, bicolours and more besides.
The spreading succulent ground cover, will add an instant hit of colour, with it thriving in a sunny spot and blooming until the first hard frosts of winter. A lovely plant to have for difficult dry and poor soils where it can perform well or perhaps simply used on the patio.
