A lettuce variety that truly lives up to its “frilly” name. This unique lettuce is a cross between iceberg lettuce and curly endive, resulting in a ‘curly iceberg’ with delightfully crinkled, succulent leaves. Plants have an open habit and show good disease resistance to mildew and top burn plus tolerance to bolting. Sow them all year round for a constant supply of sweet, crunchy leaves that add texture to salads. Height: 15cm (6″). Spread: 30cm (12″).

Sowing Information

Direct sow lettuce seeds outdoors from March to August into well prepared, fertile, moist soil in sun or semi shade. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm (½”) in drills 30cm (12″) apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 30cm (12″) apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. Make regular sowings for a constant supply.
