Streptocarpus ‘Blue Frills’ is an unusual double variety with the purple and white blooms featuring a generous ruffle in the centre. The veins in the white lower petals are attractively picked out in purple to add further detail. Streptocarpus make great houseplants, with clusters of exotic-looking blooms produced for at least nine months of the year in an endless array of vibrant shades and colour combinations, rising above thick, wrinkled, furry green leaves. Height: 20cm (8in). Spread: 20cm (8in).

Growing Information
March to September
Place your Streptocarpus in a bright spot but not in prolonged direct sunlight – an east or west-facing windowsill is perfect. Water regularly as the compost begins to dry out but avoid letting the plant sit in water. Feed fortnightly with a high-potash feed (diluted to half strength) to maximise flowering. Cut back spent flower stalks to the base to encourage more to form. As the plant grows, repot as necessary in spring into a slightly larger pot.
October to February
Move to a south facing windowsill if possible. Only water when the compost dries out and don’t feed. Remove any dead leaves and debris to minimise the chance of pests and diseases.
