Tell Me More…
Colourful and eye-catching, Euonymus japonicus ‘El Dorado’ is one of the most popular varieties of the family. Shorter than most, the new leaves emerge a vibrant, bright golden yellow, to give your garden an injection of year-round colour. Maturing to a slightly paler yellow with age, they are almost always covered with their younger, brighter siblings.A perfect plant for containers, borders or as a low growing hedge, the yellow leaves make fantastic weed-suppressing groundcover.Euonymus japonicus ‘El Dorado’ is a hardy, semi-evergreen shrub which may lose some of its leaves in an exceptionally harsh winter, but will quickly return with a fresh flush of foliage in spring. Plant in almost any aspect, providing there is some sunshine, and in almost any type of soil providing it is moisture retentive but not prone to waterlogging. This is a fast-growing, dependable plant which reaches 60cm in height with a spread of 25cm.
