Tell Me More…
An exciting new addition to our range Tithonia rotundifolia ‘Torch’ has tall, branching stems which hold multiples of blooms above lush, rounded foliage from April to October. Flowers emerge a little later than the leaves, in July, and are continually produced until the first frosts. Blooms will add their bright orange-red intensity to a border – where stems will dance and sway in the breeze on their strong stems. Flowers are attractive to pollinators and make a great inclusion in a vase or bouquet too. Tall stems, up to 1.5m, can also be planted in containers but ensure that the pot is large enough not to topple, also ideal for a gravel garden or prairie planting. Tithonia rotundifolia ‘Torch’ prefers to be planted in well-drained soil which benefits from full sun. Suitable for any soil except chalk and clay, a tender annual bedding plant which spreads up to 45cm.
