Tell Me More…
Campanula poscharskyana is ideal for planting in pockets from crevices in stone walls, pathways or steps – where it will add wonderous colour in places other plants may be reluctant to take root. The star-shaped, purple blue, five-petalled blooms will appear ‘en masse’ from June right through to September. Deadhead regularly to encourage the constant stream of these dainty flowers – which are adored by bees and other pollinators. An excellent trailing and mat-forming addition to pots, rockeries, baskets and gravel or cottage gardens. Campanula poscharskyana is also a great companion plant for creeping phlox, aubrieta and airy Erigeron karvinskianus – all of which share similar growing conditions and a naturally sprawling habit. Plant in moist, well drained soil of any type. Avoid a north facing aspect and position in full sun to partial shade. Shear back plants in autumn to maintain a neat shape and encourage healthy, densely packed foliage. A hardy (H5), herbaceous perennial which reaches 20cm in height and spreads to 60cm. Naturalises via underground runners.
