Commonly known as Angel Trumpets, Brugmansia are a showy shrub plant that produces massive, exotically fragrant blooms in sunny spots of the garden, patio or balcony. The large foliage leaves are fuzzy, covered in many fine little hairs, which throughout summer and autumn form the backdrop for the explosion of colour from the long buds. For best results, grow in patio pots or containers, then move into a conservatory or greenhouse for protection in winter months from frost. ‘Single White’ explodes with crystal white, single flowers with a faded green base. Height: 2m (78″). Spread: 1.5m (59″).
Growing Information
Pot up Brugmansia using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.2. Grow Brugmansia in warm, frost free conditions with a minimum temperature of 10C (32F) – a heated conservatory or greenhouse is ideal. Brugmansia requires a bright position in full sun.
