This shrub bears vivid, strongly scented golden-yellow flowers in late winter. The crinkled blooms have deep crimson-red centres which provide a stunning contrast to the golden petals. Hamamelis mollis also have broad, oval leaves that turn yellow in autumn before they fall. This versatile ornamental shrub fits in perfectly within a mixed border providing much needed brightness during the winter months and they are also stunning when used as a specimen plant.
Make sure to plant your Witch hazel in a sheltered area with either full sun or partial shade. This plant prefers to grow in well-drained soils.
