The lovely and small daylily variety Hemerocallis ‘Little Grapette’ is well-known for its vivid, grape-purple blooms that make a statement in any garden. Every blossom has a vivid yellow throat that contrasts sharply and gives the appearance of depth and volume. As the name “daylily” suggests, this small daylily blooms abundantly in early to mid-summer, with each bloom lasting only a day. But ‘Little Grapette’ yields a copious succession of blossoms, guaranteeing a vibrant show for several weeks. Grows to a modest height of 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm) and spreads similarly, ‘Little Grapette’ is a great ground cover or for the front of perennial borders or rock gardens.
