‘Prince Jumbo’ is an intriguing Male variety of Kiwi, that does not produce its own fruit. Ideal for planting near a female variety, this hardy perennial can generate an abundance of brown hairy fruits, that each feature a juicy green flesh and sweet taste. Great for growing in greenhouses, kitchen gardens and along walls, be sure to position in semi shade where it can flourish.
Growing Information
Grow kiwi plants in a sunny position in any fertile, well drained soil. A sheltered position is essential as kiwis are particularly sensitive to adverse weather conditions. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole. Plant kiwi vines, firm in and water well. Provide the twining stems with an appropriate support wires strung between sturdy posts, to train as an espalier.
