A lobelia with a lovely light blue cool coloured flowers. Compact plants covered with tiny flowers throughout the summer, usually grown as edging for beds and borders, often with Alyssum. Bush variety. Height 10cm (4″). (SUPASEED: These coated Supaseeds make it easy to sow this fine-seeded item.)

Growing Information

Best grown as a HHA – Half-hardy annual. Sow January-April under glass in gentle heat. Flowers July-September.

Sowing Information

Sow singly or in small groups spaced about 1cm apart in trays of a good seed compost. Press gently into the surface and germinate at approx. 15-20C. Do not cover seed, keep in a light yet shaded position. Maintain moisture. Remember not every seed will produce a viable plant so allow for some failures. Germination 10-21 days. Transfer seedlings when large enough to handle 5cm apart in trays and grow on. Plant out 15cm apart after carefully acclimatising to outside conditions. Ideally leave 15cm between plants.
