Loved for its vivid autumn foliage, Sorbus ‘Dodong’ is a tempting option for garden aficionados. Large, round leaves on this small, deciduous tree change colour from a vibrant green to a striking rainbow of orange and scarlet in the autumn. It adorns itself with clusters of creamy-white blooms in the spring, and by the autumn, the local animals finds it beautiful orange-red berries. The ‘Dodong’ is a striking focal point that doesn’t overpower a small garden because of its modest size. It may reach up to 6 metres in the air.
It needs very little trimming to thrive, and it is reasonably easy to maintain in well-drained, nutritious soil. It likes to be in a sunny or partly shaded spot so that it gets adequate light to grow.
