Allium Graceful Beauty
This show-stopping Allium is definitely what it says in the name, a graceful beauty! This variety is undoubtingly a worthwhile flower to grow as it is effortlessly tasteful. Its large, starry blooms form spherical flower heads in spring, with each gleaming white flower blushed with the palest pink providing a wonderful contrast with its violet stamens.
This hardy bulb is best positioned at the front of borders for a dramatic display or packed into patio containers to produce a striking display. Like all Alliums, these undemanding and easy to grow, returning year after year for a fantastic floral display. Height: 30cm (12″). Spread: 10cm (4″).
Growing Information
Alliums thrive in light sandy, well drained soil in full sun. Avoid planting in cold wet soils as the bulbs are prone to rot in these conditions. Plant allium bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4″) and a distance of 10cm (4″) apart. A slow release fertilizer can be added to poor soils at the time of planting to improve fertility. When growing alliums, plant them where the leaves of other plants will cover the base of their stems. This will hide the old foliage which dies back before flowering begins.
