A mid-to-late cropping variety that yields well in July and early August. ‘Duke’ blueberries are firm, medium-sized, light blue berries with a sweet flavor. When mature, upright bushes can produce up to 20 pounds of fruit. The tasty fruits also keep their freshness longer than most varieties. With lovely crimson autumn foliage and pretty spring flowers, this self-fertile blueberry looks equally at home in the kitchen garden, allotment, or mixed shrub borders. Growing Information
Blueberries require a well drained, acid soil in a sunny or semi shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow blueberry plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3.
