Looking to grow your own Jalapeños but don’t have the space for the larger varieties? The Chilli Pepper ‘Baby Jalapeno’ is the perfect solution! This compact, highly productive plant brings you all the bold, zesty flavour of a traditional Jalapeño, but in a smaller, space-saving package. It produces an abundance of small, mildly spicy peppers with a striking black flush that ripen into vibrant red fruit, giving you the option to harvest them while still green for a milder heat or let them mature for a fiery kick.
Perfect for small gardens, patios, or even containers, the ‘Baby Jalapeno’ thrives in limited spaces, making it ideal for urban gardening or smaller greenhouses. With its impressive yield, you’ll enjoy fresh, homegrown peppers all season long without taking up too much room. Whether you’re making salsas, sauces, or just adding a little heat to your dishes, the ‘Baby Jalapeno’ gives you all the flavour without the hassle of a large plant. Ready to add a little spice to your garden (and your meals)? The ‘Baby Jalapeno’ is your go-to choice! Measuring 5-6,000 SHU. Height: 50cm (20in). Spread: 40cm (16in).
Growing Information
Chilli peppers may be grown undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel, or grown outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun. Small varieties can also be grown on a sunny kitchen windowsill. Pot up young plants and grow them on in warm frost free conditions. When plants are well grown transplant them into grow bags and containers, or plant them in well prepared beds of fertile, well drained soil. When growing chilli peppers outdoors, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days prior to transplanting them. Space pepper plants at a distance of 50cm (20″) apart.
