The Pony Tail Palm is in interesting-looking indoor plant with a bulbous trunk and base that holds onto water so it can survive periods of drought, topped off with slender leaf blades that cascade around the stem – said to give the effect of a pony’s tail! It copes well with centrally heated rooms, so is ideally suited to modern homes where there is low humidity.
